At 4:00 am today, the eye of Typhoon "GENER" was located based on satellite and surface data at 270 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes (22.6°N, 123.7°E). Maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move North at 7 kph. Meanwhile, a low pressure area (LPA) was estimated at 270 km Northwest of Laoag City (20.4°N, 118.5°E).
