DRRMO Conducts Free Blood Pressure Taking at Bacolod City Government Center
The City Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office, Office of the Mayor, conducts free blood pressure taking regularly at the Bacolod City Government Center.
The weekly blood pressure taking is one of the activities undertaken by the DRRMO under its Emergency Medical Services program. Both employees of Bacolod City Government Center and its stakeholders benefit from the said activity.
It was noted however that almost thirty percent (30%) of those whose blood pressure were taken were having high blood pressure reading (140 mmHg systole/100 mmHg diastole).
Those taken with blood pressure that were consistently high were advised to consult the physician and be watchful of their diet and lifestyle.
The activity aims to create awareness among the stakeholders of their health condition, so that they will have to make early medical intervention in order to pre-empt the prevalence of heart-related illnesses. *bbm/drrmo
